If any of your questions are left unanswered, email us at yscfellowship@gmail.com.

  • What is your mission and vision?
Vision statement: YSCF envisions a world where every person, regardless of age and socioeconomic status, have the knowledge, skills, and motivation to create a better society Mission statement: YSCF aims to provide fellows with tools and skills so that they can create the world they want to live in.
  • Until when can I register?
Registration is now open for our Spring 2023 semester! Meetings will start on March 5th, at 3:00pm EST. Registration will close February 19th.
  • What is involved in being a facilitator?
You do not need to have had formal teaching or facilitating experiences to do this program. We’ll walk through it together, and we will provide you with what you need. The curricula are all set, so there is a guide that you can use for all the sessions. However, the curricula are not meant to be constricting, and so they are designed for you to easily be able to adapt them if you'd like to. We are here to support you, regardless of your teaching style or experience. In terms of time commitment, I’d expect that you’d spend at least 3-4 hours per week. All groups will meet for 75 minutes each Sunday at 3:00pm EST. The general ratio of planning to teaching is 1:1, but it may take more time than that depending on how comfortable you are with and your style of facilitating. On top of your responsibilities with your group, all the facilitators will meet once a week to discuss how things are going, share ideas with each other, and problem solve. YSCF will cover all your costs, but please be aware that this is a volunteer opportunity, so you will not be receiving any financial compensation for your work. To finalize your commitment, please fill out this google form. You MUST fill it out to secure your spot as a facilitator. https://forms.gle/RQ1N7Vo5WsyQTfXS7 We are very much in need of facilitators right now, so we would love to have you join us!
  • When will my group meet?
All groups will meet on Sundays at 3:00pm EST.
  • Where and how do you meet?
All meetings are held online via Zoom, as participants are worldwide.
  • How can I pay my participation fees?
We are in the process of setting up a PayPal and Zelle account, so in the meantime, please pay your participation fees through Venmo. We are @YSCFellowship. You can also pay us through GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/yscfellowship. Please state your full name in the comment so that we can mark your payment as complete. We urge all students to pay a base participation fee of $50, but it that is not possible, please pay what you are able. If you are interested in sponsoring another student's costs, please send $100 (or more! All donations are appreciated). Learn more about our fees on the fees page. Again, we do no want cost to be a barrier. All students who are interested will be able to participate, regardless of their ability to pay for the program.
  • What if I am having trouble keeping up with the oustide work?
All students will be able to participate, regardless of accessibility needs. If a student has difficulty completing any of the work, the student and facilitator will work together to figure out an alternative plan so that students can still participate. The outside-of-class work is meant to be supplemental, but not a barrier to participation.
